I Am Always Starving at 3pm!

How to Get Through Mid Day Hunger

Do you find yourself constantly hungry in the middle of the day? It's a common problem for many people, but luckily, there are some simple solutions to help you get through it. Here are some tips on how to beat mid-day hunger.

One of the easiest ways to combat mid-day hunger is by drinking plenty of water. Often times, we mistake thirst for hunger, so staying hydrated throughout the day can help to keep those hunger pangs at bay. Aim to drink at least 8 cups of water a day, and if you're still feeling hungry, try drinking a glass of water before reaching for a snack.

Another way to beat mid-day hunger is by eating a healthy, protein-packed lunch. Foods that are high in protein, such as chicken, fish, beans, and nuts, can help to keep you feeling full and satisfied for longer periods of time. Try to incorporate these types of foods into your lunch, and avoid processed or sugary snacks that can leave you feeling hungry shortly after.

If you find that you still need to snack in between meals, try reaching for healthy, nutrient-dense foods. Fruits and vegetables, such as apples, carrots, and celery, are great options that can help to keep you feeling full without weighing you down. Other healthy snack options include yogurt, hummus, and nuts, although be careful with nut based snacks as their calorie count is fairly high.

The combined key to all of these is planning! If you can carry a water bottle around with you, prepare your meals as opposed to eating out, and set aside scheduled time to eat moderately proportioned meals and snacks, you can avoid getting to that point of feeling starved and looking to grab the nearest thing possible.
